Introduction to PCB Design

Move from wire spaghetti to a real professional product.

Lesson Content

A breadboard is fine for testing, but for permanent projects (or products) we turn to designing a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) using tools like EasyEDA or KiCad. You draw the schematic, place the components, route the copper traces between them, then send the Gerber file to a manufacturer to produce the professional green board for you.

Common Mistakes

Forgetting sufficient trace width for power paths. A thin trace for 5V connected to a motor will burn like a fuse wire due to the high current.
