Reading Electronic Schematics

How to read circuit diagram symbols to move beyond pictorial diagrams.

Breadboard pictures (like Fritzing diagrams) are good for beginners, but engineers use standard schematic symbols. A zigzag line means a resistor, a triangle with a vertical line means a diode, two parallel lines one longer means a battery. Reading schematics is essential if you want to design your own Printed Circuit Board (PCB).

Common Mistakes
